With the help of Linked Helper 2, you can send messages to LinkedIn group members. In this article, you'll learn how you can do it.
1. Create a new campaign.
- In the Campaign menu click the list of campaigns:
- Choose the Create new... option:
- In the pop-up window give your campaign a name (1), choose the type of campaign (2), choose the needed template - Empty campaign, click Create (4):
- Go to the Workflow of your campaign and click on the "+" to add the needed action:
- Select the Message to Group members function from the list:
If you are using Advanced user interface, then you can use this instruction: How to create a new campaign in Linked Helper?
2. Collect group members for your message broadcast.
You can collect profiles from the list of all group members, or from Sales Navigator search with group filter applied.
Collect profiles from the list of all group members
- Click on the Add button in the left LH 2 menu and choose the My groups page as the source for collecting:
- Select the group you want to collect contacts from:
- Go to the See All section to view all group members in the group:
- Start the collecting process by clicking Collect in the left menu and choosing the ...from current page option:
- Linked Helper will start to scan the group members list and collect contacts to the Queue for the message broadcast.
Unfortunately, LinkedIn does not allow you to filter group members by industry, location, etc., but there is a workaround if you have a Sales Navigator subscription.
Collect profiles from the Sales Navigator search
- Click on the Add button in the left Linked Helper 2 menu and choose the SN search as the source for collecting:
- Filter profiles in SN search by the needed filters including group filter:
- Start the collecting process by clicking Collect in the left menu and choosing the ...from current page option:
- Once profiles are collected, assign a group ID to them for messaging:
- switch to Advanced UI - Where can I change Linked Helper Interface?
- take the ID from the group URL;
- go to the list of profiles and select them all;
- click More button
- click Change platform;
- paste the LinkedIn Group ID into Group ID field;
- click Save:
Upload from a CSV file
Let's imagine you have 11 LinkedIn accounts, one of them has a Sales Navigator subscription, the other 10 accounts don't have it, all 11 are the participants of the Finance Club group.
You want to collect all CXOs in certain location from a large group and send them a message via group from several LinkedIn accounts without Sales Navigator subscription, then here is what you can do:
- Navigate to Sales Navigator and make a search, filtering profiles by position, location, industry, etc. Do not forget to filter them by Group. Collect them, do not forget about limitations:
- Download profiles - How to download profiles from Linked Helper?
- Split the profiles across different LinkedIn accounts if needed: create several copies of the CSV, and delete the unwanted rows but leave the columns as they are, do not modify the headers.
- Create a messaging campaign - How to manage broadcasts to LinkedIn 1st connections — creating messages chains
- Upload CSV files into different LinkedIn accounts who are members of the Finance Club group. If the CSV files were fetched from Linked Helper 2, you can use the method shown in the first article, otherwise you need to upload them as shown in the second article:
- Now change the profiles' group ID as it is shown in the last step of the instruction above.
3. Review profiles and action settings.
You can check the collected contacts in the Queue list. There you can exclude some contacts if you for some reason do not want to send a message them - How to exclude contacts from a campaign in LH 2?
Add your message in the Message tab.
- Use {firstname}, {lastname}, etc variables. They will be replaced by the real recipient's first name & last name, etc. And click Save and Preview button to save your message.
- Preview the message for each contact in the Queue by clicking the Preview message button:
- You can also choose the typing method for your message. Linked Helper 2 offers three options for that. Random method - Linked Helper 2 will choose the input method itself; Insert - your message will be pasted into the text field; Type - your message will be typed as you'd type it manually yourself using the keyboard. You can find these settings in the Delay Settings tab.
- Pay attention to the switch.
If you wish to skip contacts who received any message from you no matter how the message was sent, manually or from Linked Helper, or via what campaign - turn on the switch Reject if you or LH messaged a contact after the connection date.
In the Messaged list you'll see contacts who have already received any message from you (if you have the Yes option set up for the Reject if you or LH messaged a contact after the connection date filter).
- Adjust settings for Bunch size, Timeout between bunches, and Delay settings according to your needs.
4. Run the campaign.
Start the message broadcast by clicking the Start button:
You can export information for successfully processed contacts as a CSV file.
- Open the Successful list for the needed action:
- Click Select all and Download:
- Choose the needed delimiters and hit the Download button:
Unfortunately, MS Excel doesn’t support CSV files in the same way as .xslx files. But I still able to open any CSV file with MS Excel:
