Basics
Unfortunately, Linked Helper 1 (Chrome extension) and Linked Helper 2 (standalone program) have different database structures, hence their backup files are incompatible.
As a result, in order to transfer the data, you will have to move your lists from Linked Helper 1 to Linked Helper 2 manually via downloading and uploading CSV files.
- Download contacts from Linked Helper 1 - How to download a certain list from Linked Helper - Linked Helper - Medium
- Then upload previously downloaded CSV to the needed list in Linked Helper 2 Campaign:
When you'll upload those profiles, they will have only their LinkedIn ID's displayed:
Don't worry, that's enough for Linked Helper 2 to run all basic functions. Linked Helper 2 will scrape all available information from contacts profile while visiting that profile with any action.
Combining several lists into one campaign
Linked Helper 1 does not collect duplicates into the same list, so processed profiles won't be collected again. If your campaign in Linked Helper 1 consists of one list in a function, for example, you were endorsing all your 1st connections, then you can upload excluded and processed profiles from a Linked Helper 1 list into the Exclude list of Linked Helper 2 campaign in order to avoid duplicates during the next collecting process.
If your campaign in Linked Helper 1 consists of several lists, then you need to do extra steps in order to avoid unpleasant situations. Linked Helper 2 also does not collect duplicates into the same list, but the problem is that every Campaign can have several actions in the Workflow with their own lists, so if you uploaded profiles in the Action #3, and then started collecting by accident into the first action, then such profiles will be collected and processed by Action #1 and #2. Adding profiles into the Exclude list won't work here since the Exclude list is shared by all Actions and hence profiles in the Exclude list won't be processed by any Action.
Let's do this on an example: in Linked Helper 1 you have 4 lists in the "Message to 1st connections" function that are all used in your messaging sequence, each message is sent in a week after the previous one. In Linked Helper 2 you would need only one campaign, where each list is a separate Action in the workflow. You want to transfer those lists to Linked Helper 2 and recreate a messaging sequence there, but you also need to make sure that duplicate messages won't be sent. You can do that by skipping profiles from the Actions they should have been already processed if the campaign was created in Linked Helper 2 right from the start. Here is how to do that:
To download your list:
- Find the “View collected” button

- Click "Select all" and "Download selected"
- In the next window, you can select a delimiter for your CSV file (if you want to open and edit it). Press "Download CSV file"
- A "mini_contacts" file will download. You can change its name for easier navigation later. We'll rename it to "MT1C message 1"
- Repeat the process for all of your other lists. In the end, you should have 4 CSV files that you now need to upload into LH2.
- In Linked Helper 2, we need to create a campaign with 4 "Message to 1st connections" actions.
When creating a campaign, you can select a "Messaging sequence" template to instantly add 3 "Message to 1st connections" actions with "Delay between actions" between them.
"Delay between actions" adds a hidden timer to every contact that enters its queue, so if the contact entered it - it will stay there for a certain amount of time. You can set it for example for 24 hours and your contacts will wait in that action for exactly one day before proceeding further down the campaign.
After that, press "Create":
You need to add one more "Message to 1st connections" action and the bottom of the workflow. To do that, press on the plus sign and select the action.
Now that we have our 4 "Message to 1st connections" actions, we need to upload our contacts to the corresponding list.
Open the queue of your Action #1 "Message to 1st connections" and upload contacts from the "MT1C message 4" (our fourth messaging list from Linked Helper 1)
After that, we'll have our contacts inside our first "Message to 1st connections" action.
But those contacts have already received your 1st message during the Linked Helper 1 messaging campaign.
The most logical move here will be to add such profiles into the 4th Action Queue (if you use Advanced interface) so their route in the campaign will start not from the beginning. But as it was already mentioned, there is a chance that those profiles will be accidentally collected into the beginning of the campaign and, since profiles were not processed via the first action, they will be added there and receive a duplicate of the first message which was already sent in Linked Helper 1.
You cannot add the profile to the Exclude list because it will be excluded from every Action of the Campaign.
To avoid an unpleasant situation, you need to:
- Open the Action's Queue
- Select the profiles you want to skip
- Click More and then Move to the next action;
- Repeat the steps above for the rest of the Actions until those contacts will reach action #7, which is supposed to be our 4th and latest message.
As a result of this manipulation, the profile will be moved to the current Action Skipped sub-list of the Processed list and appear in the Queue of the next Action.
Now you need to repeat the process for all your remaining CSV lists. Upload the "M1TC message 3" file into your first action's queue and move contacts until they will end up in your third "Message to first connections" action, and so on with your other CSV files. In the end, each action should have the same queue as your LH1 "Message to 1st connections" function lists and the "Skipped" sub-list will prevent sending a duplicate message.
