Roots of the issue
If profiles fail during inviting with such error:
LinkedIn error. Incorrect connect response (429), then you should know that this is not a Linked Helper bug.
Linked Helper receives responses sent by the LinkedIn server back to the web page. Those responses contain HTTP status codes (you can learn more here) that help Linked Helper to understand whether the invite was successful or not. All 4xx and 5xx status codes report errors, which would have occurred even if you had invited profiles manually.
Incorrect connect response (429) means that after invite was sent 429 Too Many Requests status code was received in response, which indicates you sent a lot of requests in a short period of time. Usually, LinkedIn shows "You're out of invitations for now" warning, and it is not possible to invite profiles manually as well.
This could be because of two reasons:
- You've sent many invitations within a short amount of time.
- Many of your invitations have been rejected, ignored, or left pending by the recipients.

How to check the issue
Please, check whether the profile with such error has Pending status already in basic LinkedIn.
In order to make sure that the issue is on the LinkedIn side, please, try to invite failed profiles via the same platform used by Linked Helper.
In order to do that, please:
- Open the Failed list of your campaign and find three most recent persons with the same error (LinkedIn error. Incorrect connect response (429)). Recently processed profiles are at the end of the list.
- Open profile page in CRM: simply click the profile name and you will be redirected to the profile record.
- Check what platform was used for inviting: find the campaign in the right menu, expand it, and find the platform below the action status:
- Open the profile in LinkedIn: locate "Show in:" buttons and click the one with the name of the platform where the profile was processed by LinkedIn:
- Try to invite the profile manually. If you cannot send an invite manually, then you won't be able to send it via Linked Helper as well.
If you’re restricted from sending more invitations, you can try the following solutions depending on the restriction:
Increase Delay settings or reset them to SAFE timeouts for all Actions within your campaigns, then wait a few hours before you try again:
- Make sure your daily limits are within our recommendations - 150 actions per day. If the limit is already set to 150, temporarily decrease it and wait a couple of days prior to running the inviting campaign once again:
- If you have a lot of pending invites, withdraw all of them except for the recent 500 and then try again – How to cancel sent pending invites?
If your account gets restricted, you may wait for 5-7 days and the restriction might be lifted without any actions from you. Otherwise, you will need to contact LinkedIn support and ask them politely to remove the restriction, of course, without mentioning that you use automation software since it`s against their User Agreement (8.2).
